Mid-Week
12.15pm on Wednesdays we are open for Holy Communion
This service is happening in the VCR (Church Room).
What to Expect
For our service at 10.15am: 1st and 3rd Sundays will be Holy Communion, 2nd Sunday will be All Age, 4th and 5th Sundays will be Morning Worship.
Children and youth will start in the service before leaving at the appropriate time for their own groups, apart from 2nd Sunday when everyone will remain together. On 3rd Sundays, youth will remain in the service and children will return in time for Family Communion.
For Holy Communion, receiving Communion is up to the individual and wafers will continue to be intincted at this time.
What can I expect?
A warm welcome at the door, singing (both modern and traditional music led by the music group), prayers (both impromptu and liturgical), bible readings and a talk. The 8 am service always includes Communion as do most 10.15 am Services and occasionally some Evening Services. Evening Services at 6.30 pm usually involve an extended time for worship, prayer and ministry.
Who comes to St Paul's
Everyone is welcome; we have a varied congregation of all ages and backgrounds. Most Sunday mornings we have currently around 100 adults plus children. Children and teenagers have their own activities and go to those at some point during the service. If you have young children and would like to go with them you are most welcome to do so to settle them in. For more information about Youth and Children’s activities, please click on one of these links to see either our Children's or Youth activities.
When are your services?
8.00 am Communion service in the Chapel with traditional 1662 liturgy and no music. 10.15 am Family worship service. This normally lasts around 90 minutes and is followed by tea/coffee (real coffee!) and biscuits and chat plus an opportunity to be prayed with if you wish. Evening Worship at 6.30 pm is a more informal time with music, prayer and testimonies.
Parking & Access
We have a small car park at the rear of the church (access from Crofton Road) and parking is also readily available on Oakwood Road but please ensure no driveways are blocked. Disabled access is provided to the church and church hall.
Do you collect money during the service?
Yes, there is an opportunity to give. We believe that giving our money to God's work in this Church is an act of worship. However, if you are not a regular member of the church, please don't feel under any pressure to put anything into the offering bag, just pass it on. Many regular members give by bank transfer so you may notice that they simply pass the bag along the rows.
Will I be asked to do anything during the service?
Simply to come and enjoy the presence of God and meeting with his people. Whilst members of the congregation sometimes participate spontaneously in our services, you will never be asked to do anything you do not want to do.
Is there a dress code?
Absolutely not. Please feel free to wear whatever you think is appropriate.
