BAPTISM ENQUIRIES
For enquiries about Baptism please contact the Church Office on 01689 850697 or office@stpaulscrofton.org.uk or the Vicar, Rev'd Bimbi Abayomi-Cole on 01689 852939 or bimbi@stpaulscrofton.org.uk.
The Church of England is organised in parishes and encourages children being brought for baptism to be baptised in their local parish church. This is to ensure that the newly baptised can worship locally and conveniently to where they live, but also enables the church where the baptism has taken place to be in touch with the family over the years to encourage and include them in the life and ministry of the church.
If a family or person lives outside a parish, they can still be baptised in a different parish church to where they live, if they become regular members of that church. (You can check if St Paul’s, Crofton is your parish church by going to the Church of England website www.churchofengland.org and entering your postcode in the box on the right-hand side of the homepage).
If you live outside the parish of Crofton, but still wish to have your child baptised at St Paul's, we ask that you come along to church at least once a month for six consecutive months, so that we can get to know one another before beginning the preparation process. Please introduce yourself when you start attending.
WEDDING ENQUIRIES
You are most welcome to marry in your parish church, whether or not you attend church. And even if you don't live in the parish, it may be possible under certain circumstances to be married here at St Paul's. Please contact Rev'd Bimbi Abayomi-Cole who will be pleased to talk to you about your wedding: 01689 852939, bimbi@stpaulscrofton.org.uk. For more information about being married in the Church of England go to www.yourchurchwedding.org.
FUNERAL ENQUIRIES
The church is available for a funeral service. It would usually be followed by a short committal service at either a cemetery or a crematorium. A service in church allows people as much space as they want to express thanksgiving without the pressure of other bereaved families awaiting their turn for the chapel to be free.
If you would like to hold a funeral service in the church, please speak to the funeral director you employ and they can arrange this with us. St. Paul's clergy is also available to take the entire service at the crematorium or cemetery if you so wish.
